Towards the south of Zaragoza, in Aragon, Spain, near the little village of Calatorao in the Jalón shire over the middle of the driest region in Europe, you can find 26labrador.es, an oasis with hundred year old trees in 26 acres of countryside.
The building where a private collection remains is at the centre of a property fenced by cypresses which shelter a secluded green walk. A tender pattern of beams and shadows sway with the motion of the old poplars leads to the warble of nightingales, blackbirds and many other invisible singers. The sky line of the Iberian chain frames spectacular sunsets.
But there is nothing of steppe here in this oasis of peace, tranquility and calm.
